2606 EP Perkins engine

High-performance power solutions for electric power
The new Perkins® 2606 electric power engine marks the next step in the journey of the all-new Perkins 2600 series engine platform. Derived from the powerful 2606 industrial engine, this 12.9-liter six-cylinder engine can deliver up to 572 kW of engine power, making it suitable for generators aiming to provide up to 625 kVA of electrical power. Whether for prime or standby applications, these engines are designed to deliver reliable power, making them the ideal choice for remote sites, emergency backup power, and a wide range of other power generation applications.

Flexibility and versatility
One of the key advantages of the 2600 series is its flexibility. The 2606A-E13TAG is optimized for fuel efficiency and can switch between 50 Hz and 60 Hz frequencies, making it versatile and capable of meeting a wide range of requirements. This flexibility, combined with the reliability and efficiency of the engines, makes it a valuable asset for power generation applications.
The 2600 electric power series is designed to operate at altitudes up to 3,500 meters and in extreme ambient temperatures ranging from 60 °C (140 °F) down to -40 °C (-40 °F) with assistance systems.
Certifications and warranties
The Perkins 2600 engines provide reliable power in compliance with the ISO14396 regulatory standard for the generator industry. Additionally, the 2600 series Perkins engines also include 2606C variants designed to meet EU Stage II equivalent emissions standards.
Perkins ensures the quality and performance of the 2600 Electric Power (EP) series with warranties tailored to different applications. For prime or continuous applications, engines are covered by a one-year warranty, while standby applications are covered by a two-year or 1,000-hour warranty.

Other benefits of the Perkins 2606 EP series
Electronic fuel injection
allows the 2600 series to reduce fuel consumption by up to 6% compared to the 2206. Optimized air, cooling, and lubrication systems achieve fuel consumption as low as 182 g/kWhr at 50 Hz and 190 g/kWhr at 60 Hz.
Compact design
Ideal for space-restricted applications, the 2606 EP engines feature a compact layout and offer a 5% weight reduction compared to the 2206 and 14% compared to the 2506.
Low maintenance costs
These engines simplify routine maintenance while providing durable performance from the start.
Six-cylinder platform
a proven inline design that uses the latest common rail fuel injection systems for reliable power delivery.
Looking ahead
The Perkins® 2606A-E13TAG is designed to maximize efficiency even in the world’s most challenging conditions. Wherever power is needed, the 2600 series for electric power is ready to perform for both prime and standby applications.
